California

We had a great time in California, and it turned out to be a pretty eventful week. Elora was baptized. Alfred and I did some sight-seeing. We went to both Los Angeles and San Diego. Elora got to spend quality time with her grandparents. She met her Great Grandma Jackie and her Great Aunt Denise for the first time. We went to the Delgadillo Family Thanksgiving-this is an annual event that takes place, and was our first time attending. Alfred hadn't been since 2001. . The Baptism was really nice. It was at Sacred Heart in Palm Dessert, CA. It was a private ceremony that took place on Wednesday, 11/19. Elora's uncle, Renaldo, went to Europe recently and brought back a rosary and holy water from the Vatican that we were able to use. Stephen and Nikki Wright are the God Parents. They are our really great friends that I know will be in Elora's life for a long time. Alfred has known Steve since he was about two, and Nikki and I have been best friends since the fourth grade.
After the ceremony, there was a small reception held at Alfred's Aunt Dahlia and Uncle Albert's house. I only have a few pictures from the reception that I can post now. I will add more later when I get them.

There are a lot of little shops, art vendors, etc to check out. I love sunset on the beach. ********************************************************************************* Steve, Nikki, Alfred, and I spent 2 nights in San Diego. (approx 2 hours from Indio, CA). You could call this our vacation from our vacation. We stayed in a really nice hotel, right on the ocean, and spent most of our time hanging out on the beach and relaxing. Renaldo lives in San Diego, so we got to spend some more time with him too. View From Our Hotel Balcony

It was decorated so beautifully, I felt like I was at a wedding reception Elora with cousin Mateo Another cake by Mary Elora with Denise

Happy Birthday to Me.

Today was my Birthday. Alfred made a lovely dinner. Flank Steak, roasted red potatoes, portabella mushrooms, and TWO kinds of guacamole! (mango and sun dried tomato) Yum...He made my Birthday Cake too. It was a smores brownie cake. I was quite impressed! It looked like it came straight from the Bakery. Oh, and it tasted awesome too.
